on 39 carries (2.8 ypc) while scoring a touchdown
on a fumble recovery. Wake Forest gained only
95 total yards in the first half while fumbling
the ball twice deep in its own territory. Maryland
was kept in check until late in the second quarter
when it scored on three of four possessions.
ARKANSAS STATE 66 Florida Intl 24
Arkansas St. only outyarded the Golden Panthers
498-460 but Florida International committed
seven turnovers, which led to 38 points for
the Indians. Florida International turned the
ball over on five of its first six 2nd half
possessions after going into the break down
18 points. The Indians scored touchdowns on
their first five possessions as they gained
10.4 ypp compared to 5.4 ypp for the Panthers.
(5) Florida 49 KENTUCKY 28
Florida outgained the Wildcats 537-295 of which
452 yards came in the first half. The Gators
fell asleep on both offense and defense in the
second half allowing Kentucky to make the score
more respectable. The Wildcats had four turnovers,
which led to 21 Florida points. The Gators offense
was extremely efficient, finishing the game
12-16 on third down conversions.
U-C-F 23 Marshall 13
The Golden Knights snapped the nations longest
losing streak despite getting outgained by the
Herd 379-336. Central Florida capitalized on
four turnovers that led to 10 points on two
drives that totaled just 20 yards. Marshall
fumbled on its second play of the game and then
missed a field goal on its next possession.
The Herd crossed midfield on each of their last
seven drives but got only two scores out of
it.
COLORADO STATE 42 Nevada 21
Colorado jumped out to a 21-0 lead by scoring
on its first three possessions. The Wolf Pack
responded with two touchdowns to cut the lead
to seven but they never got any closer. The
Rams used a solid rushing attack that gained
257 yards on 43 carries (6.0 ypc). Nevada finished
with three turnovers that ultimately was the
difference as it was outgained by only 61 total
yards.
AKRON 48 Northern Ill 42
Akron blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead but
forced an interception in overtime to pull out
the win. The Huskies pulled within seven points
late in the final quarter and then forced a
Zips punt with 1:50 remaining. From there, they
drove 96 yards in 11 plays and tied the game
on a 24-yard touchdown with 13 seconds remaining.
The teams combined for 892 yards of passing.
(17) WISCONSIN 23 Michigan 20
Wisconsin pulled out the last minute win on
a quarterback draw for a touchdown. The Wolverines
outgained Wisconsin 401-287 but the Badgers
were able to control 11 and a half minutes of
the clock in the fourth quarter and gave Michigan
only one scoring chance which resulted in a
go ahead 49-yard touchdown pass. Wisconsin had
21 first downs despite gaining only 3.8 ypp.
SO FLORIDA 45 (24) Louisville 14
The shocker of the year thus far saw South Florida
jump out to a 21-0 lead and never look back.
The Cardinals won the total yardage battle 493-355
but early non-execution cost them the game.
Louisville was inside the Bulls 30-yard line
on its first three possessions but a fumble,
missed field goal and turnover on downs resulted
in no points. South Florida capitalized by scoring
14 points off those errors.

South Carolina held Troy to just 236 total yards
and 14 first downs while forcing five turnovers.
The Gamecocks turned four of those into touchdowns
including one fumble recovery that was returned
for a score. The first two Trojans turnovers
occurred inside the South Carolina 11-yard line.
Troy scored its first touchdown on a kickoff
return for a score but didn't get an offensive
touchdown until late in the fourth.
(1) U-S-C 45 OREGON 13
Oregon was smelling upset as the Ducks jumped
out to a 13-0 lead but never scored again as
the Trojans ran off 45 straight points. USC
racked up 593 yards of offense, 351 of which
came in the second half. The Trojans fumbled
on their first play from scrimmage and the Ducks
first 10 points were scored off turnovers. Oregon
pulled to within 11 points early in the fourth
but a chopblock penalty negated the touchdown.
TULSA 37 Memphis 31
Tulsa blew a 14-point lead in the third quarter
and then allowed the tying touchdown with just
under two minutes remaining. The Golden Hurricane
scored a touchdown in overtime and then stopped
the Tigers on a fourth down play to preserve

15 minutes longer despite allowing Memphis to
rush for 335 yards on 48 carries (7.0 ypc).
Wyoming 24 OLE MISS 14
Wyoming outgained the Rebels by over 100 yards
and 110 of Mississippi's 282 yards came in the
fourth quarter after the game was pretty much
decided. The Cowboys got inside the Rebels 30-yard
line twice in the first half but a missed field
goal and an interception resulted in no scoring.
Wyoming responded with two long drives on its
next two possessions to take a 13-7 lead into
the break.
Tulane 31 S-M-U 10
The Tulane defense was stout, holding the Mustangs
to just 127 total yards and 10 first downs.
SMU's only touchdown came on an 87-yard kickoff
return and the offense got past the Tulane 41-yard
line only one time the entire game. The Green
Wave missed two scoring chances inside the SMU
10-yard line as a missed field goal and an interception
got them nothing.
SAN DIEGO ST 52 San Jose St 21
San Diego St. outgained the Spartans 513-233
and the Aztecs broke open a 14-14 game by scoring
the next 24 points. San Diego St. held San Jose
St. to a measly 57 total yards in the 2nd and
3rd quarters. The score could have been worse
but the Aztecs committed 13 penalties, four
of which resulted in first downs for the Spartans.
San Jose St. was 0-17 on third down conversions.
UTAH STATE 31 U-N-L-V 24
This was a tough loss for the Rebels who outgained
Utah St. 387-283 and had nine more first downs
but tuned the ball over on downs in their last
two possessions. UNLV had the ball twice inside
the Aggies 30-yard line but failed on 4th down
both times. Earlier in the game, UNLV missed
two field goals and was intercepted in the redzone.
(7) Georgia 23 MISS STATE 10
Mississippi St. got on the scoreboard first
with a field goal but Georgia scored the next
23 points to put the game out of reach. Neither
team was effective running the ball as Georgia
was held to 94 yards while the Bulldogs rushed
for just 49 yards. The Mississippi St. defense
was strong inside the redzone as it stopped
Georgia three times inside the 10-yard line,
forcing three field goals.
TEXAS-EL PASO 21 New Mexico 13
New Mexico outgained the Miners 285-248 but
UTEP scored on an interception return and a
blocked punt return to pull out the win. The
Lobos allowed only 107 total yards in the final
three quarters but their own offense could not
generate any consistency after scoring their
first touchdown. New Mexico pulled to within
eight points on a field goal but never got out
of its own territory after that.
(14) Arizona State 42 OREGON STATE 24
The Sun Devils were outgained 525-475 but they
forced six turnovers that led to 28 points.
Oregon St. punted on five of its first six possessions
while missing a field goal in the other drive.
Even though the Beavers outyarded Arizona St.,
216 of their yards came when the game was decided
as they trailed by 32 points. The Sun Devils
scored touchdowns on four straight possessions
in the 2nd half, totaling 4:37 of time.
Hawaii 24 IDAHO 0
The Warriors pitched a surprising shutout as
they held the Vandals to just 153 total yards
and nine first downs. Idaho was able to move
the ball on its first three possessions but
Hawaii clamped down and allowed only one drive
of more than four plays and more than 22 yards.
The Vandals were in Hawaii territory on their
first two drives but never got past its own
47-yard line after that.
(10) Tennessee 30 (4) L-S-U 27
Tennessee came back from a 21-point halftime
deficit and pulled out the improbable win in
overtime. Tennessee was outgained 211-75 in
the first half but turned it around in the second
half by outgaining the Tigers 212-26. Neither
team rushed for more than 100 yards and three
of the combined six touchdowns were the results
of turnovers. 25 penalties were called between
