Upsets galore last weekend with four teams in
the top ten going down! Will this weekend prove
to be the same?
Here is a run-down of the best in NCAA Football
betting action this Saturday!
Florida
Gators vs. LSU Tigers: Great offense versus great
defense in this one as Florida comes in with
a superb offense. The Tigers have the best
defense in college football this year. The
odds-makers just don’t feel that the Gators
will bounce back from last week’s loss
to Auburn by coming in and giving LSU a run for
their money. The BetUS line in this game is LSU –8.5
against the spread. That’s a pretty big
number but one that LSU might just cover.
The trend to remember
in this one is that the Gators do not cover
or beat spreads in defensive games. Not only
that, but the Gators are now 3–11 ATS
in SEC games. That trend looks to hold in this
match-up.
Oklahoma
Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns: The Red
River Battle happens once again with Oklahoma
versus Texas. Oklahoma had a 24 to 7 lead in
their game versus Colorado and then stank up
the joint. Texas just played terribly in their
loss to Kansas State.
Both teams come into this game with something
to prove but Oklahoma is a good team that got
caught playing down to their competition. Texas
just might not be as good as everyone thought.
The BetUS line is Texas +11.5 at home versus
Oklahoma. Expect the Sooners to come in and rout
the Longhorns.
Ohio
State Buckeyes vs. Purdue Boilermakers: Both Ohio State and Purdue are ranked for this
game. The Buckeyes come into this game having
leap-frogged almost everybody after so many teams
in the top ten lost last Saturday. Purdue got
to beat up on Notre Dame.
Purdue didn’t cover against Notre Dame
last Saturday, though, and that accounts for
the BetUS line. The BetUS line in this game is
Ohio State –7.5 against the spread on the
road versus the Boilermakers. Ohio State should
cover that as they are playing very well right
now and Purdue has been winning against soft
competition.
Notre
Dame Fighting Irish vs. UCLA Bruins: Notre Dame showed some
life against Purdue last Saturday by not losing
by more than 20 points. UCLA came back against
Oregon State on the road. UCLA has no excuses
in this game. Notre Dame has a woeful offense
and UCLA’s defensive coordinator,
Dewayne Walker, should be able to get his fellas
to stomp all over the Irish.
The rout should
be on for the Bruins at home. The BetUS line
in this game is UCLA –20.5
against the spread. They should cover that and
then some.
Kentucky
Wildcats vs. South Carolina Gamecocks: Kentucky is ranked
in the top ten for the first time in a very,
very, long time. South Carolina played LSU
about as well as a team can. This should be
a great game with a South Carolina team built
on defense taking on a spread offensive team
like Kentucky. Expect this one to go down to
the wire. The BetUS line is Kentucky –3.5
against the spread on the road. Kentucky may
or may not cover. That is how close these two
teams are in terms of talent! Great football – but
close in terms of college football betting action.
Georgia
Bulldogs vs. Tennessee Volunteers: Another one of those
pit-fight SEC match-ups with Georgia going
into Tennessee to take on the Volunteers. The
odds-makers aren’t fooled as the BetUS
line in this game is Georgia –2.5 against
the spread on the road versus Tennessee.
Tennessee is very, very good at home in SEC
play and the trends actually points to the Volunteers
winning this game outright. Expect a tough, hard
battle, in this one.
