Football Betting - USC Trojans
(-10.5) vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

What a great game on Saturday night for NCAA
football bettors! The USC
Trojans travel to Lincoln,
Nebraska to take on the Nebraska
Cornhuskers.
At first glance,
it appears that things are in Nebraska’s favor. After all, their new
starting quarterback, Sam Keller, is familiar
with the Trojans, having played against them
when he was at ASU. Not only that, but the Huskers
are difficult to play against and beat when they’re
home. They average 41.6 points at home and their
home crowd is about as rabid as fans get.
With all of that
being said, the Trojans looks like a solid
bet to cover the BetUS –10.5
point spread this weekend. The reasons are obvious.
Coach Pete Carroll of USC got an extra week to
prepare for this game while Nebraska struggled
on the road versus a Wake Forest team that started
a freshman quarterback last week. The Huskers
gave up an average of 6.5 yards per passing play
versus Wake Forest and 4.5 rush yards per rushing
play. That does not bode well for them this weekend
as USC’s running backs come at you in waves.
Another thing in
USC’s favor is that Nebraska’s
quarterback, Sam Keller, has already thrown three
interceptions this year. Keller has thrown picks
in two games and now he faces a USC defensive
backfield that should be one of the best in the
nation.
Yes, there is no
denying that USC didn’t
play up to snuff in their first game of the season
against the Idaho Vandals, but it should be expected
that Carroll and his staff have made the necessary
adjustments to put forth a much more focused,
a much more determined, and much more difficult
to handle USC team against Nebraska.
The game may be touch and go until the end of
the third quarter when USC is expected to take
the game over with their superior offensive and
defensive teams. USC is just too good for Nebraska
to hang with and that extra week that USC received
to prepare is huge.
USC is 7–0 straight up in their past 7
non-conference games. The question isn’t
whether they will beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The question is whether or not they will cover.
The BetUS line of -10.5 isn’t a whole lot
for a team like USC. Expect the Trojans to win
this game by at least 17 points.
