Week Three NFL Betting - Panthers at Falcons

The Atlanta
Falcons are a team in disarray in
every way. Deciding to stick with the horrible
Joey Harrington instead of chasing after an NFL
quarterback was one decision that they seem to
be willing to revisit, as they are talking with
Jaguars cast-off Byron Leftwich. Leftwich should
be able to step in and be an immediate, if not
huge, upgrade for a Falcons team in need of whatever
they can get right now.
CAROLINA –4.5
@ ATLANTA +4.5
It is not going to matter, however, who they
have behind center this coming Sunday when they
visit the Carolina Panthers, who were caught
off guard by a much-improved Houston Texans team
at home last week. They will not be so lax this
week against their division rivals.
Jake Delhomme, admired by almost as many people
who seem to dislike him, is having a great year
so far, using Steve Smith to his full advantage.
Fortunately for the Panthers in this game, their
weak spot thus far, their defense, is nowhere
near as weak as the attack it will face this
week.
The Falcons have allowed eight passing plays
in two games of 20+ yards. With Jake tossing
rocks to Smith, that number should rise dramatically,
as will the score.
The early line
has the Panthers as 4-point favorites, but
that line could easily move up. If you like
the Falcons in this, you should definitely wait
until later in the week to do your football betting
on this game, because you will get them at a
better NFL line. Or, if not better, you can rest
assured – barring an injury to the Panthers
during practice – it certainly will not
get worse.
On the other hand if your NFL betting on this
game is going to be for the Panthers, you need
to make your bet now. Right now, before the money
starts coming in favor of the home team and the
line moves to minus 4.5 or higher. Remember,
every little bit helps.
Take the home team at +4 here to make a big
statement that they are, as many predicted last
year, one of the better teams in the NFL. This
will be the start to what could be a string of
victories, leading right up to their bye week
in Week 7.
