Not only will gunslinger Brett Favre go for
a fourth consecutive win straight up and ATS
(against the spread), he'll also look to surpass
Dan Marino as NFL's all-time touchdown passer
when NFL betting enthusiasts watch the Green
Bay Packers (-3 -120) take on the Minnesota Vikings
(+3 Even) at The Metrodome (1:00pm EST).
Head-to-Head Trends:
- Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
- Road team is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings.
- Underdog is 17-4 ATS in their last 21 meetings.
- Under is 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings.
- Over is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings in Minnesota.
Last week, Favre threw three touchdown passes
in a 31-24 win as the 6.5-point underdogs over
San Diego that moved him into a tie with Marino
for the career record with 420.
Favre has a 93.5 quarterback rating and has
a 3-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He's
thrown 6 touchdowns this year while racking up
861 yards.
- Packers are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games
in Week 4.
- Packers are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 vs.
NFC.
- Packers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road
games.
- Packers are 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing
record.
The future Hall of Famer should have little
problems setting the record against a Vikings'
pass defense that's allowing an average of 243
yards per game. Despite their problems stopping
the pass, the Vikings' run defense has been stout
by allowing just 67.3 yards per game.
Minnesota quarter back Tarvaris Jackson, who
had just one touchdown pass and five picks through
the first two games, was side-lined in Sunday's
13-10 loss as the 3-point underdogs at Kansas
City due to a strained groin. Kelly Holcomb got
the start under center, going 14-of-28 for 165
yards while getting sacked five times.
If Jackson can't answer the bell on Sunday,
coach Brad Childress said Holcomb will start
against Green Bay.
- Vikings are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games
in Week 4.
- Vikings are 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 vs.
NFC.
- Vikings are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games
on Turf.
- Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.
- Vikings are 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 games
overall.
NFL odds list Green Bay (-3 -120) the favorites
with a total of 40.
- Packers are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games
as a favorite.
- Packers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games
as a road favorite of 0.5-3.0.
