The Furious
Seven, Top NFL Teams After Week 1

1. New England Patriots (1-0)
Are you ready for another Patriots Superbowl
appearance? After destroying the Jets, and the
spread in the process, the Patriots fully justified
all the hype that has made them the favorites
to win the Superbowl. A stiff schedule will test
the Brady Bunch, but the rest of the NFL has
been put on notice.
Next game: New England (-4) vs. San Diego
2. Indianapolis Colts (1-0)
The Colts decimated
one of the favorites in the NFC by devouring
the New Orleans Saints in the second half.
Dropping 31 points on anyone, while holding
the high powered Saints to zero offensive touchdowns,
have put the Colts and Pats in a league of
their own. These Colts have swagger and even
the spread busting talents of Vince Young won’t
be able to slow down the defending champs.
Next game: Indianapolis (-9) vs. Tennessee
3. San Diego Chargers (1-0)
The Chargers offense took everything that the
Bears vaunted defense threw at them and still
managed to make plays. LT scored on a touchdown
pass and rushed for another proving that he should
be considered for NFL MVP. Their next tilt against
the Patriots will go a long way in seeing how
good Philip Rivers really is.
Next game: New England (-4) vs. San Diego
4. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)
Why do I like the
Steelers so much? Because the AFC North is
a joke, and the Steelers are clearly the cream
of the crop. Parker is undoubtedly an every
down back, but Najeh Davenport looks reliable
to spell him. Roethlisberger took to the skies
for four scores, but only managed to complete
12/23 for 161 yards. The league will have to
wait a while to fully figure out Mike Tomlin’s
strategy, and the Steelers blitz happy defense
will rack up wins until they do.
Next game: Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh (-9.5)
5. Seattle Seahawks (1-0)
Every time I put these rankings together, I
feel the need to throw in an NFC team and the
reason the Seahawks deserve to be here is because
of their terrible excuse for a division and their
hard hitting defense, which took out both Jeff
Garcia and Cadillac Williams against Tampa Bay.
The Seahawks are a team way below the radar that
you should bet on to make the playoffs and compete
for the Superbowl in our sportsbook futures.
Next game: Seattle (-2.5) vs. Arizona Cardinals
6. New Orleans (0-1)
A loss to the defending
champions is nothing to be ashamed of. A blow
out, however, is something to kick yourself
in the crotch for. The Saints, however, are
still the kings of the rickety NFC South. It’s simply that Drew Brees had
a bad game. A really bad game. But the Saints
are still a deserved favorite in the NFC and
shouldn’t be crossed off the list of your
betting favorites because of one bad loss. With
Cadillac likely out of their next tilt, jump
on New Orleans to win and cover before the oddsmakers
make the proper adjustments.
Next game: New Orleans (-3) vs. Tampa Bay
7. Dallas Cowboys (1-0)
I officially envy
Tony Romo’s life. Between
345 yards, four touchdowns, Carrie Underwood,
quarterbacking America’s team and not looking
like a moron while wearing a backwards hat, Romo
has it going on. After devouring the Giants defense,
we should all be considering ourselves Romosexuals.
Their secondary looks awful, and they will have
to clean that up to have any hopes in the playoffs.
Next game: Dallas (-3) vs. Miami
