College Football Betting: Pac-10 Is Still About Overs

Pac-10 NCAA college
football betting is still about one thing -
- overs. This isn’t to
say that every Pac-10 game, or every game where
a Pac-10 team is playing, is bound to go over.
However, the majority of games where a Pac-10
team is involved do go over. And, they go over
in the strangest ways.
For instance, the Arizona Wildcats began the
season versus Brigham Young. That was an over
game waiting to happen. Of course, the Cats scored
only 7 points in the game and they lost to the
Cougars 20 to 7.
What did the Arizona Wildcats do in their next
two games? They won at Northern Arizona by a
score of 45 to 27 and then lost to New Mexico
on the road by a score of 29 to 27. Those were
both over games for the Wildcats. This weekend
they play Cal.
The California
Golden Bears, by the way, have been involved
in three straight over games - 45-31 vs. Tennessee,
34-28 vs. Colorado State, 42 – 12 vs. Louisiana Tech. The BetUS total
NCAA football betting line on the Arizona vs.
California game this weekend is 55.5. Considering
how bad Arizona’s defense is playing, Cal
has a good chance of getting three-quarters of
the over number by itself, and Arizona will score
in this game. The over should definitely hit
in this one.
The Oregon Ducks,
in traditional Pac-10 fashion, have thrown
three overs in their three games this year.
The more important thing to remember about
the Ducks is that they only played defense
versus the Michigan Wolverines. In their other
two games, the scores were 48 to 27 versus Houston
and 52 to 21 versus Fresno State. Now, they play
the Stanford Cardinal who have given up a whopping
45 in their loss to UCLA and an equally whopping
37 in their loss to San Jose State. The BetUS
total college football betting line in the Oregon
vs. Stanford game is 60. Will that be a problem?
Maybe, but it might not have anything to do with
Oregon. Stanford can’t score and is easily
the worst team in the Pac-10. Still, Oregon could
throw up another 60 or close to 60. That means
this is another over game.
The Arizona State Sun Devils have won their
three games this year in over fashion. They beat
San Jose State 45 to 3, Colorado 33 to 14 and
San Diego State 34 to 13. They get to play Oregon
State this weekend. Oregon State has scored 21
points, 3 points, and 61 points in their three
games so far. Because this is a Pac-10 match-up
expect the Beavers to play more towards the 21
than the 3. The BetUS total betting line in this
game is 53.5. Expect the Sun Devils and Beavers
to crush that line.
The USC Trojans
get to beat up on the Washington State Cougars
this weekend. Everybody knows what USC did
last week versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers and
nobody is confused with the Cougars being as
good as Nebraska. However, USC tends to play
down to their competition as evidenced by their
lackluster performance versus the Idaho Vandals.
Washington State has scored 21, 45 and 45 points
in their last three games. The 64.5 BetUS total
betting line looks to go down in this one, right?
Not right. Washington State’s defense is
very, very good and the Cougars won’t allow
the Trojans to average over 11 yards per rush
like Nebraska did. USC will win this one, but
they may not score more than 35 to do it and
the Cougars shouldn’t even touch that 35
number. That means an under game.
The BetUS total
betting line in the UCLA Bruins versus Washington
Huskies game is 47.5. This, like the USC game,
is a difficult one to call. The main reason
is that UCLA played so poorly last week versus
the Utah Utes that it’s
almost impossible to get a read on how they will
play this weekend. The Huskies did well versus
Ohio State for 3 quarters and then folded terribly.
Ohio State is a much better team than UCLA. So,
there isn’t much to go on in regards to
the Huskies game versus the Buckeyes. Take notes
during this game and then use the notes to place
future over/under wagers on Pac-10 games.
Until next week, good luck!
