To bet on NFL inter-conference
tilts is always a bit tricky, as there are
often not much in the way of past games to
go on. This game is no exception, as these
two conference heavyweights have played only
twice in the past 12 years, neither of which
has any bearing on this week’s
matchup.

This is Carson
Palmer’s latest chance
to show the world that he is one of best quarterbacks
in the league. Most people, it seems, still think
of the Seahawks as one of the best teams in the
NFC, and, while that may be true, the NFC is
not full of great teams right now like the AFC
is.
This is a great chance for the Bengals to relieve
the anguish they must be feeling after being
on the wrong end of a shootout with the Cleveland
Browns last week; a team they surely thought
they were going to roll over.
For the Seahawks,
it is a chance to show that they are better
than the team that allowed the Arizona Cardinals
to come back and beat them in the fourth quarter
last week. They’ll
have to be better on pass defense than they were
when they allowed Matt Leinhart to toss for 299
yards against them.
Unfortunately for the Seahawks, they are pretty
banged up right now if they need to reach much
deeper than what they field as a starting unit.
Even Shaun Alexander is hurting, again, although
it did not seem to bother him too much last game.
The Bengals passing
game will be too much for the Seahawks to deal
with. By midway through the 3rd quarter, Seattle
will have to rely on their passing game too
much to be able to stay very far ahead of Cincy,
if they can even stay ahead at all. Take the
visitors to cover with 3.5 free points from
