NFL Betting - AFC Conference Championships Preview

Last week, the Indianapolis
Colts got the job done off the leg of Adam Vinatieri.
Vinatieri provided the Colts with five field goals
in their victory, as they downed the Baltimore
Ravens 15-6.
It was only the fourth playoff
game in NFL history, and first since 1979, that
neither team scored a touchdown. Quarterback Peyton
Manning finished 15-of-30 for 170 yards with two
interceptions. The victory improved his career
playoff record to 5-6.
The New England Patriots
used a much more conventional method to advance.
Quarterback Tom Brady again displayed his postseason
magic in the 24-21 win over the San Diego Chargers.
Brady was 27-of-51 for 280 yards with 2 touchdowns
and 3 interceptions. Brady and Coach Bill Belichick
now own a 12-1 playoff record together.
Now, the Colts and Patriots
meet in this weekend's AFC Championship game for
a spot in the Super Bowl. A Colts' victory would
put Manning in the big game for the first time
in his career. He's notorious for not being able
to win big games, as, in recent years, he's crumbled
in championship contests.
Manning will try to get the
job in front of the home folks, which is an advantage
for the Colts. But bettors beware: The Colts are
just 3-10 ATS (against the spread) in their last
13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Brady is already a three-time
Super Bowl winner and playing on the Indy turf
may provide him the opportunity for a fourth title.
As well, the turf may play a role at the ticket
window, where the Patriots are an amazing 16-4
ATS and 19-1 SU in their last 20 games on turf.
Summary:
The RCA Dome will be rockin'
when the New England Patriots invade Indy to play
the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC championship
and Super Bowl berth on Sunday, beginning at 6:30
p.m. EST. Quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning
will lead the way in what will be a very entertaining
and competitive game.
The Patriots have taken the
cash in their last four Conference Championships
games. As well, the Patriots have profited in
eight of the last eleven meetings against the
Colts.
