NCAA College Football Betting
- 2007 Missouri Preview

In 2007, Missouri may have the most powerful
offense in the nation north of Lubbock, Texas
and west of Honolulu.
As a consequence, the college football betting
public will find security but little wealth in
a bet for the Tigers. The BetUS sportsbook issued
NCAA football odds of +175 for Mizzou to win
the North and an NCAA football line of +650 to
take the conference crown.
In his debut as signal-caller
last year, Chase Daniel threw for 3,527 yds
and 28 TD’s
last year (only 10 INT’s). Seven of his
top eight receivers from last year return, including
William Franklin (6-2, 205; 48-829, 6 TD’s)and
the nation’s premier tight-end duo of Chase
Coffman (6-6, 245; 58-638, 9 TD’s) and
Martin Rucker (6-6, 255; 53-511, 5 TD’s).
More important, Daniel will be operating behind
a line that includes four-year starters LT Tyler
Luellen (6-7, 295) and OC Adam Spieker (6-3,
305). Sophomore Dain Wise (6-5, 305) is very
talented and will probably take over RT in 2007.
Tailback Tony Temple
(5-9, 200; Sr) finally had a productive spring
and looks to have past discipline issues behind
him. Temply gained 1,063 yds (7 TD’s) in ’06
but 2 of his 3 100-yard games were against
Murray State and New Mexico. Depth issues could
haunt the Tigers at tailback unless incoming
4-star Derrick Washington (5-11, 194; 4.5-40)
can produce right way. Still, given the passing-game
potential, Mizzou does not need prolific rushing
yards, only honest numbers.
For all the experience and high-octane the Tigers
return to their offense, the defense is full
of holes and lacks a superstar. Lorenzo Williams
(6-1, 295) and Evander Hood (6-3, 295) form a
formidable DT duo but there is no experienced
depth behind or at the defensive end or linebacker
positions. DE Stryker Sulak (6-5, 240; Jr) must
reach his potential to help shore up a perimeter
vulnerability the Tigers suffered through last
year even with veteran ends.
Darnell Terrell (6-3,
205; Sr.) could be a true lock-down corner
while a beefed-up Hardy Ricks (6-0, 190; So.)
hopes to make offenses regret the decision
to throw away from Terrell. Mizzou’s
safeties are talented and experienced but none
of them are returning starters. Still, keep an
eye on Cornelius “Pig” Brown (5-11,
205; Sr) at strong safety.
