Comments & Notes Coming Soon... |
| 1. |
Indianapolis
Colts |
Peyton Manning threw for
321 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception Sunday, as the
Indianapolis Colts edged the Tennessee Titans 22-20. The Champs stay
at #1, but just barely. |
| 2. |
New
England Patriots |
Tom Brady passed for 279 yards with three touchdowns
and an interception Sunday, as the New England Patriots defeated
the San Diego Chargers 38-14. The Patriots took care of the
Chargers in what some called their most important victory "ever". |
| 3. |
Pittsburgh
Steelers |
Willie Parker rushed for
126 yards with a touchdown on 23 carries Sunday afternoon, as the
Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Buffalo Bills 26-3. The Steelers
offense looks great, their defense looks even better, watch out AFC
North. |
| 4. |
Dallas
Cowboys |
Tony Romo threw for 186 yards with two touchdowns
Sunday, as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins 37-20.
They signed Tank Williams today, not sure about this move, but there's
no doubting the Cowboys are 2-0 and feeling confident. |
| 5. |
Denver
Broncos |
Jason Elam kicked a 23-yard
field goal in overtime Sunday to give the Denver Broncos a 23-20
win over the Oakland Raiders. Mike Shanahan moves into the lead
for coach of the year with that game saving timeout to freeze Janikowski
on Sunday. |
| 6. |
San
Francisco 49ers |
Frank Gore rushed for 81 yards and a pair
of touchdowns on 20 carries Sunday, as the San Francisco 49ers defeated
the St. Louis Rams 17-16. The new leaders in the race for the NFC
west title has the 49ers at 2-0 and looking darn good. |
| 7. |
Chicago
Bears |
Cedric Benson rushed for
101 yards on 14 carries Sunday, as the Chicago Bears defeated the
Kansas City Chiefs 20-10. Devin Hestor looks like he wants to go
to another pro bowl and the Bears host the Cowboys in Week 3. Expect
fireworks. |
| 8. |
San
Diego Chargers |
Chargers' quarterback Philip Rivers completed
19-of-30 passes for 179 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions,
while LaDainian Tomlinson was held to 43 yards on 18 carries. Simply
not enough to even stay in touch with a tough Patriots team at Foxboro. |
| 9. |
Baltimore
Ravens |
Kyle Boller passed for 185
yards with two touchdowns Sunday to lead the Baltimore Ravens past
the New York Jets 20-13. The Ravens vaunted D just held onto the
lead on Sunday, it looks like McNair will be out for one more week
next up - Arizona. |
| 10. |
Green
Bay Packers |
Brett Favre threw for 286 yards with three
touchdowns and an interception Sunday, as the Green Bay Packers defeated
the New York Giants 35-15. The Pack are back and have now won 6 in
row dating back to last year. |
| 11. |
Seattle
Seahawks |
Spotting
Arizona 17 points and then driving for the win with 3 minutes
on the clock in the fourth quarter and Hasselbeck and Alexander
screwed up an audible call. Hopefully this isn't symbolic of how
the season goes for the Hawks. They should have won in the desert. |
| 12. |
Cincinnati
Bengals |
Bengals' QB Carson Palmer completed 33-of-50
passes for 401 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions, while
Chad Johnson caught 11 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns, and
guess what...they still lost in a shootout to the Browns. Crazy! |
| 13. |
Detroit
Lions |
Kitna
got his head knocked off in the first quarter and then returned
in the 4th due to the "hand of God" as he calls it to lead Detroit
down the field to a week 2 win over the Vikings. Roy Williams,
MacDonald, and Calvin Johnson are proving tough to handle. |
| 14. |
New
Orleans Saints |
Drew Brees completed 26-of-44 passes for 260
yards with a touchdown and an interception for New Orleans, but it
wasn't enough to overcome a tough Bucs team in their home opener.
If they don't start getting back to what won for them last year it
could be a long year for the Aints. |
| 15. |
Jacksonville
Jaguars |
David Garrard threw for 272
yards with a touchdown on Sunday to lead the Jacksonville Jaguars
past the Atlanta Falcons 13-7. This is a tough team to figure out
but at 1-1 their not out of anything just yet. Memo to Jones-Drew.
The season has started. |
| 16. |
Tennessee
Titans |
Vince Young completed 17-of-27 passes for 184
yards and a touchdown for Tennessee and LenDale White rushed for
64 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. The only team that seams
to give Payton a tough time every game nearly pulled one out in their
home opener. They're young, and they'll get better. |
| 17. |
Houston
Texans |
Andre Johnson (may miss next
game) caught seven passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns Sunday,
as the Houston Texans defeated the Carolina Panthers 34-21. This
was a coming of age victory for the bad luck Texans and Coach Kubiak
has to have a big smile on his face this week in meetings and practice. |
| 18. |
Carolina
Panthers |
Mighty Steve Smith had eight receptions for
153 yards and three touchdowns vs the Texans on Sunday but it wasn't
enough. Unless the Panthers D decides to show up on Sundays the team
many picked ot win the NFC south could be in trouble. |
| 19. |
Washington
Redskins |
The Washington Redskins pulled
off a 20-12 win over the Philadelphia Eagles Monday night at Lincoln
Financial Field for their second straight victory. If Jason Campbell
isn't the QB of the future for the Redskins I'll go and kick Snyder
myself. Gibbs has them on the right page, and they could contend. |
| 20. |
Philadelphia
Eagles |
Things are not going well in Phili. Another
loss on Monday night football saw them start their season 0-2. David
Akers booted four field goals in a losing effort, and Donovan McNabb
was good on 28-of-46 pass attempts for 240 yards in the loss. Kevin
Kolb anyone? |
| 21. |
Arizona
Cardinals |
Neil Rackers kicked a 43-yard
field goal with one second left on the clock Sunday to give the Arizona
Cardinals a 23-20 win over the Seattle Seahawks. It was a huge victory
for the hard luck desert birds, but this could propel them to bigger
things this year in a highly competitive NFC west. |
| 22. |
Tampa
Bay Bucs |
Is Joey Galloway 25 again? It looks like it!
Or else the Saints DB's weren't actually playing on Sunday. That's
probably a better answer. Jeff Garcia looks like the right man to
lead this offense for this year, and the Bucs could play spoilers
in the NFC south. |
| 23. |
Minnesota
Vikings |
Jackson
throwing 4 INT's is not going to make the Coach very happy. He
also only completed 17-of-33 passes for 166 yards. Bad numbers
for any QB. Adrian Peterson did what he could gaining 66 yards
on 20 carries, but the Vikings don't look good at all. |
| 24. |
New
York Jets |
Kellen Clemens completed 19-of-37 passes for
260 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions and Jerricho Cotchery
had seven receptions for 165 yards. The offense looked great against
a tough Ravens D, but if Kyle Boller's team beats you...your defense
is in serious trouble. |
| 25. |
Cleveland
Browns |
Derek
Anderson made Romeo look like the smartest coach in the NFL by
rewarding him with his first division win in ages. This was a fantasy
football lovers dream game with all the TD's. Edwards and Winslow
look like legitamite pro bowlers this year, but then again the
Bengals DB's do suck. |
| 26. |
St.
Louis Rams |
Preseason NFC west favorite (Sean Salisbury)
came out even flatter in their second home game of the year and now
sit 0-2. This can't be going over to well in the city of Blues. Holt,
Bulger, Bruce, and Jackson are trying to do their part, but the D
has to step up! |
| 27. |
Miami
Dolphins |
Dolphins' quarterback Trent
Green completed 23-of-40 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns
and four interceptions. Yes I did type 4 interceptions. Just the
look on Joey Porters face in the 4th qtr of this game was enough
to make me laugh out loud. The Dolphins are canned for the year. |
| 28. |
New
York Giants |
Can anyone say going backwards? People are
calling for the firing of Tom Coughlin already and this can't be
good. Shockey is pissed off, Manning is banged up, some guy named
Ward is their starting tailback, man oh man. Tiki where are you? |
| 29. |
Buffalo
Bills |
J.P. Losman completed 15-of-25
passes for 154 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions for
Buffalo, and they lost a tough road game to a great looking Steelers
team. On a positive note Kevin Everett is steadily improving
day by day in a Buffalo hospital. |
| 30. |
Oakland
Raiders |
The Raiders are buying into their young coaches
plan of attack, but its too bad Janikowski can't make a 50+ yard
kick 2x in 1 minute, because they'd be 1-1. It was a cruel way to
lose a game, and the Raiders still haven't won a division game in
a couple years. |
| 31. |
Atlanta
Falcons |
Is Byron Leftwich the saving
grace for this franchise? Don't bet on it. It'll take him a couple
weeks to figure out the playbook, and by then Joey Harrington could
be dead. That horrible O-line has got to show up on Sunday's. |
| 32. |
Kansas
City Chiefs |
See
last week's #32 team in the power rankings. They'll need a win
to escape last spot. Sorry Chiefs fans! Hey Herm "We play to win
the game!!!!" |
