It could've been better for Donovan
McNabb. After missing the end of the
2006 season with an injury, he played his first
regular season game Sunday at Green Bay. The
Eagles lost 16-13 and McNabb was average at
best, completing 15-of-33 passes for 184 yards
and one touchdown.
"I know that he had an opportunity to play more
plays and see a little bit more pressure, and
receive a little bit more pressure than he had
in the preseason to have to try to make the throws," Eagles
coach Andy Reid said. "I think
it was good for him to be in there and get that
work. If there was any rust that he's able to
knock it off now and move on."
The Eagles' second game of the year is now a
huge one as it comes on Monday night against
NFC East rival Washington.
The Redskins beat Miami 16-13 in overtime in
their Week 1 affair. Receiver Antwaan
Randle El was the offensive star of
the game with five catches for a career-high
162 yards.
"If you're in the game all the time, they have
to be aware of you all the time," he said. "It
puts a little bit more pressure on the defense."
Running back Clinton Portis was
effective against the Dolphins, too, rushing
for 98 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
Oddsmakers opened the Eagles as 7-point favorites
versus the Redskins, while the game's total is
sitting at 39.
